Words of Wisdom “You may be fearless in this world, but there are other worlds.”
How is everyone holding up during this time?
I think everyone is behaving like absolute maniacs
What do you think is the biggest lesson we can all take away from this past year?
That most systems exist entirely for their own sake.
What would you consider your best local show experience?
Party of Helicopters at the Mantis in Kent, Ohio ca. 1998. Everything about the small Kent indie/punk/rock scene at that time seemed inspiring, mysterious and exhilarating. I was also a ding-dong teenager so i dunno, maybe it was just another thing that happened.
Experience working with a label?
My last 3 LPs have been on Last Resort, a London based label run by Tom Cathcart. It’s been a great experience and Tom has been able to get my work to listeners all around the world.
Craziest memory from touring?
The belief that it made any sense at all to burn fossil fuels to play for nobody at antagonistic venues.
What has your recording experience been like?
I have been recording at home since the early 90’s on my dad’s 4-track, it’s become the primary aspect of my creative life. Also, anytime spent with Ben Vehorn at his old studio Tangerine in Akron are some of my most treasured memories. Hell of a guy.
